EPA Victoria has recently released the updated Managing plastic feedstock fact sheet, publication 1701.1 and plastic feedstock web content.
The guidance supports businesses that produce, manufacture, transport, store, handle, use, install and maintain plastic products and those that collect, recycle or dispose of plastic products and feedstock to assess and manage the risk of these materials escaping into the environment under the Environment Protection Act 2017 and general environmental duty.
EPA worked with industry to update the guidance.
Updates to the guidance include new information to align with Victoria’s environment protection laws, GED and Reasonably Practicable, updated industry terminology to capture the entire plastics value chain, additional images to show the different forms of plastic feedstock, additional controls, links to further resources and removal of outdated information.
