Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australian-wide not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris, one of the major environmental issues worldwide. To successfully solve the problem, we created the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI), an on-ground network of volunteers, communities and organisations that contribute data from rubbish collected during beach and river clean-up events to the AMDI Database, and then work on solutions to stop the flow of litter at the source. The AMDI helps communities look after their coastal environment by providing resources and support programs, and collaborates with industry and government to create change on a large scale.
Marine Litter Solutions is the plastics industry’s initiative for the protection of our seas and oceans. Worldwide plastics makers are committed to working on the problem of ocean litter. They support efforts to reduce waste, increase recycling and litter prevention programs, and foster regional and global partnerships. The website is dedicated to providing the latest and most substantive information available on the causes and sources of marine debris, and most importantly, to showing us what they are doing to help find solutions.
This website gathers information on the different kinds of plastics, their use in packaging, and their role in the environment. There’s already lots of information available on these topics – this website brings it together in one place to make it easier to explore, research, and learn.
